The Golden Cross
The Golden Cross is the oldest pub in the city, dating all the way back to 1583, first mentioned as an inn in 1661. Throughout history it has always been an important meeting place for community groups including the Philanthropic society, Coventry City supporters and poet; Philip Larkin was also a frequent visitor.
Although it underwent a major refurbishment in 2016, the pub is still renowned for its ghostly happenings, and live music. The pub plays hosts to two music events every week, with local and visiting bands playing Tuesdays and Saturdays.
