The Eclipse Night Club
Located along Lower Ford Street, The Eclipse was the UK’s first al- night legal nightclub in the UK. The club had three floors, including a chill- out lounge and balcony. It first opened in October 1990, with a total capacity of 1600 and a huge line up of Sasha, Fabio and MC tunes.
The Prodigy played their first ever live PA at The Eclipse, rumored to have been paid £60 for the gig, before going on to become internationally known.
The club closed in September 1993, but during its time had over a million people walk through its doors, with a total of 74,000 members. The building was purchased by Coventry university and converted into a student union venue, before being completely demolished and converted to a car park.
